Child and Teen Therapy

Playful, Safe Support for Kids and Teens

In person in Birmingham

Big feelings deserve a safe place to land.

Whether your child is shows signs of persistent worry, struggles to regulate their feelings, is easily overwhelmed, or is struggling to cope with change — therapy can help them feel more understood, confident, and secure.

In my cozy, colorful office, kids and teens have a place to share worries, learn calming tools, and practice new ways to handle life’s ups and downs through play, art, and conversation that matches their age.

How do I know if my child or teen might need therapy?

Worries a lot or fears bad things will happen

Trouble with sleep, school refusal, or transitions

Big meltdowns or outbursts over small things

Withdrawn, quiet, or keeps feelings inside

Struggles with perfectionism or social anxiety

Mood changes, sadness, or low self-esteem

Grief or family changes that feel too heavy alone

Shows big behaviors at home or at school

I use attachment-based, developmentally appropriate therapy so kids feel safe to explore feelings and teens feel respected and heard.

I blend:

Play therapy for younger kids

Expressive arts and creative tools

Gentle talk therapy for older children and teens

Parent collaboration so you feel supported too

Together, we help your child:

Understand and name big feelings

Build coping and calming skills

Develop boy sensation awareness

Feel brave and more flexible in everyday life

Strengthen family connection

Develop a toolbox for regulation

Increase connection between themselves and others
